Lucky? She's going to be in deep doo doo when she gets back down! Hint: This is a gag pic that made the rounds a few years ago, see if you can figure out why. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

Purse hanging off the console?

The purse was photoshopped in. AD If I provoke you into thinking then I've done my good deed for the day! Those who manage to provoke themselves into other activities have only themselves to blame. *We Band of 45-70er's* 35 year Life Member of the NRA NRA Life Member since 1984

Well the "problem" with the purse is that it is hanging on number one fire handle and is just on the verge of activating it which of course would shut off fuel, hydraulics, generators and blow the fire bottle on that engine.

Tsk tsk, I thought everyone knew the P3 doesn't have a generator on the #1 engine which is why it is usually the one chosen for an engine loiter shutdown. (actually, when I first saw this pic a fews years ago that's why I thought this pilot was hamming it up for the camera, but the guages show it working so like Allan I tend to think it was a photoshop) for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

I am unconcerned as to whether it's photoshopped or not. We do have young ladies who fly our heavies, don't we? Hell, we even have women who fly our fighters. Patsy Schroeder killed one. Remember Lt. Kara Hultgreen? Patsy saw to it that Hultgreen was pushed through flight school so that the cockpits of our front-line fighters were "diverse." Problem was, Hultgreen was less than stellarly qualified to fly the F-14. She had an engine quit at low altitude and she turned into the dead engine. The aircraft stalled and into the drink it went...

Also there were the WASPs. Womens Air Service Pilots of WWII although they were not officially in the military. In the picture above it would seem the clouds and horizon have been photoshopped in also. ALLEN W. Friend of mine I flew with at SAT's mother was a WASP. Fascinating lady to talk with. I forget how many single engine trans-Atlantics she had, but it was a bunch. There are several female pilots flying C5's. There are also a goodly number of female captains flying domestic and international carriers.

Speaking about SAT, I have a friend (not the one we talked about via PM, another one) who also flew for them a while back and is back now with American. She- like the lady in the above pic- also flew P3's in the Navy initially. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

Another little point, pulling the E-Handle will not discharge the fire bottle, you have to push the little red button under the emergency shutdown handle. The lady pictured was flying for VP 40 at the time, she is now flying the P3's for NOAA I believe. bob
