Thought you might enjoy, sort of shades of Bob Hoover!

Watch as a Drunken spectator steals a Piper Cub airplane and takes off…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0WykKgQFLs

This is a video of a stunt pilot who, in real life, is a Delta Airlines pilot. His act at air shows is to pretend that he is a drunken spectator who rushes from the stands and jumps into a Piper Cub and takes off without any understanding of how to fly a plane.

The Piper Cub is actually specifically built to
withstand an enormous amount of stress and has a very powerful engine.

This type of stunt is actually the most dangerous of air show acts, because of the low altitude at which the pilot performs.

Obviously, this pilot possesses unbelievable skill.

Lord, give me patience 'cuz if you give me strength I'll need bail money!!

Looks like one of my landings.

ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Trapper,

I didn't know Kyle was flying for Delta? Are you sure about that?

He like his father and his grand father is in the ranks of the top 3 airshow pilots in the world.

His Grand Father was Zip Franklin, his father was Jimmy Franklin and his uncle is Steve Franklin who used to fly in tight formation act with Jimmy. Last I talked to Steve he was a captain for South West Airlines.

Zip was killed in an Aerostar taking off from Ruidoso NM about 20 years ago and Jimmy was killed several years back when the airplane he was flying collided with with his partner Bobby Younkin.

Kyle is now married to Younkin's daughter Amanda.A pretty incredible story about true airshow family.

Check it out.

I knew both Jimmy and Zip very well.

No, I don't know for sure he is flying for DL - I just posted it as it was sent to me, assuming the sender knew what he was speaking of. IF the info is wrong I apologize.
