Wonder how this will shake out. I'd sure like to see that Florida museum's collections. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politic...u-s-museum-1.3065537 There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Only 7 were ever built. Would be a shame if the last two were stuck in Canada. Truly the last of the great sea planes. Worthy of a proper display and not in Canada. The Martin Mars is about as Canadian as a Florida Orange... ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.

Thought there was only one left here, the second crashed a few years ago. What's wrong with being "stuck in Canada" ? This plane has a long heritage here fighting forest fires, something we value immensely. You Yanks sold it to us and if you have none left in your home country, couldn't have laid too much value on it. Pretty arrogant attitude on your part. If the owner keeps one Mars in Port Alberni and sells one to that Florida museum, both Canada and the U.S. come out winners. The friend who sent this has seen the Mars in action twice in northern California, once on Lake Oroville and once on Lake Shasta. Fighting fires is a high hazard operation, that's how that company's other one crashed. Be a bummer to lose another, these planes must be about worn out and the technology is decades old, so you've got to wonder why they keep flying them. But, I guess they finally retired them. http://www.timescolonist.com/n...ears-in-b-c-1.624458 Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. Read the article...wow...Grizz, I can't say that our U.S. Feds are any better, but this article perfectly combines "bureaucracy" and "arrogance" in one new term!
