Able Dog! And when you put two together you've got 5,400 ponies.

I want one, but I know I couldn't afford to feed it.

The absolute best No 1 A/C that ever flew to 'scratch your back' when the crap grew deep! Some of the guys that flew these beasties had no chance to get their knees together because their balls were so big! I shall always be grateful to them for what they did.
Oh, the little A-4 was the 'second best' but still a most welcome sight when your butt was in a crack!

Lord, give me patience 'cuz if you give me strength I'll need bail money!!

A friend of mine has a DEWAT PPSH-41.
When looking at it I asked why he got one with the wood badly burned. He said they were not supposed to pickup NK arms because of the danger of booby traps and mines. He said they were attacking at the time and called in an air strike to deal with a strong point. The AD strafed with 20mm and dropped napalm. The Marines pushed ahead after the air strike and he found a NK solider that was still smoking that had been killed by the strafing and napalm.
He had fallen on his burp gun when he died. His body protected part of the gun and part of it got burned. My friend rolled the body of the burp gun thinking it would be safe to pick up.
It was welded closed when he went back to the states and has been in his shop for decades.

Needless to say, the Marine veteran was a big fan of the ADs.

Envy has never been one of my problems, but I sure would like to own one of those. Nothing sounds as sweet as a big radial under full throttle. I think I may have said that before.

Speakin' of horsepower, the Reno air races are this weekend. I went in 2008. Not going this year. Last day is tomorrow. About 40 miles from me. Would you go if it was that close?
