In view of the fact that after ten days there is still no official statement regarding the "bomb" or "no bomb" status of the Metrojet crash... Does the A321 FDR record cabin pressure, and if yes wouldn't this show a peak in cabin pressure in case of an explosion onboard? | ||

My guess is that finding traces of signature explosive chemicals on plane parts will be the smoking gun. I heard a former NTSB crash examiner say on NPR that the Russians have excellent lab facilities for carrying out this part of the investigation. Chemical analysis, fragmentation patterns, metal failure, and force direction indicators. The other thing about the Russians is the tend to NOT screw around with a swift and brutal retribution once they identify the guilty party. I'm hopping that there are several Spetsnaz units training, sharpening their knives and identifying individual targets as we speak.
