https://ztresearch.blog/tag/t-...enetrating-aircraft/ I try to stay as far away from these things as possible. Can't imagine flying into one on purpose. Check out the video at the bottom of the page.

I had no idea such a mission existed. Those pilots had guts! There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

We have guys around here that seed hail clouds with silver iodide flares. Not my idea of a career objective. Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. Two responses from friends. First is Arnold Jewell, Triggermaker, and retired private commercial jet pilot. Thanks, Butch, interesting video.Rain, snow, moderate ice, no problem (when properly equipped), but 3 inch hail? Hell NO! We had a B-47 come in once and all the leading edge surfaces (wings, tail, and engine nacelle, were hammered almost perfectly flat. Crew was OK, but I’d bet they had to change their shorts…., Hope all is well with you. Would you have Stick’s phone number? Take care, AJ From Gene Beggs: During my sixteen years at Southwest Airlines, I experienced six lightning strikes. Only one required taking the aircraft out of service briefly to repair a small hole in the fuselage. Rarely does a strike cause damage to systems, structure or avionics. I had one approaching Salt Lake City one morning that fried the right position light bulb. It looked like one of those old fashioned flash bulbs we used with our Kodak Brownie cameras; remember those? Later, Gene

Met Charlie Summers in the 90's, got tour of the facility and aircraft. Quite a job he had. never met his replacement.

Pretty gutsy guys there. My question is what happens to the prop when getting into 3" hail? Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild
