Brakes? We don't need no stinkin' brakes!

I was in the Warbirds section when that happened. All I saw was a butt load of dust and some smoke afterwards. The announcer was about to lose his cool after telling people repeatedly to get away from the plane and to let the ground crews do their work.


A little while later Chuck Yeager was doing a forum outside and I was standing there listening to it. The last thing he said was, "I'm sorry we don't have a Mustang here but that's what happens when you get the Air Guard guys involved." Meaning that all planes were shut down for a while until the F16 mess got cleaned up. They did give some pretty neat low fly by's before they tried to land.

Just a guess but from watching the video he had some kind of hydraulic failure. It didn't look like the airplane had any kind of brake application before over running.

Turns out an F-86 went off too.

I talked to a guy last night that just left on Sunday and the F-16 was still sitting there. I hope it was just a hydraulic failure and not pilot error.
