Need to find a new home for this Remington Model 721 in .300 H&H. It's a real classic, made in April of 1950, the month Harry Truman decided not to seek re-election, and Wham-O came out with a flying disk they would call the Frisbee.
The bore of the 26-inch barrel is excellent. It wears a classic El Paso Weaver K-6 with fine crosshairs. Blue is probably 75 percent and the stock shows use but not abuse. A crack in the wrist just behind the trigger guard seems to have been expertly repaired. The Morgan adjustable buttplate is surprisingly comfortable.
I'd love to know what game this rifle has seen.
I only put a few rounds of jacketed and a few rounds of cast through it so I could say, "I once owned and shot a .300 H&H." Both groups were pleasing.
Asking $675 plus $50 shipping, and will include dies, 49 pieces of Winchester brass-- nine of them once fired -- and an unopened box of Barnes 165-grain TTSX bullets.
If my HVAC from hell wasn't jeopardizing getting my house on the market, I wouldn't let go of it.

As the home remodel shuffles along, here is another one that needs a new address:
It's a brand-new, unfired Ruger American Predator Gen 2 in 6mm ARC, with an additional 10-round Duramag. It's the green spatter stock and 22-inch bronze cerakote barrel version. Asking $500 plus $35 shipping. If you want the Hornady dies, 80 pieces of virgin Starline brass, a box of Hornady 100-grain Interlocks and a partial box of Sierra 90-grain tipped Gamekings, add $100.
Chose the 6mm ARC for its reputation for hyperaccuracy at distance, and its ability to deliver a decent game bullet with modest recoil so anyone in the family can shoot it well.

That’s a bummer. I stayed in a hotel over the weekend because my 28 year old HVAC gave up. Time to replace the whole thing. I hope pricing is better where you live.

$650 shipped for the Model 721, with the .300 H&H brass, dies and Barnes bullets.
The Ruger in 6mm ARC is about to get consigned. Scheel's sells this rifle for $599 plus $47 tax.
If you are unsure about the 6mm ARC, keep in mind Hornady publishes two sets of load data for this cartridge: Loads to 52,000 psi for the AR-15 platform, and loads to 62,000 for bolt guns like this one. For example, the maximum velocity for a 90-grain bullet in the AR is 2,750; in the bolt gun it is 3,050 -- a meaningful gain of 300 fps.
Ruger uses a 1:7.7 twist in the ARC to stabilize the very heavy long-range bullets.

I've done business with Bill before and was very happy.

I've owned a 721 in 300H&H before and I consider it to be true and real working mans classy. If I or my daughter or my nephew were right handed I'd of already bought it and told one of those two this is all you need.

Take advantage of Bill's circumstance friends. Big Grin

Oh sure I do. I've mentioned before I don't want to be a collector but the model 8's I'll hang onto. I casually look for a 32 rem every once in a while but am not serious.

My plan for someday is to float around the corner of a small river and find a bull moose about that far away, standing on the bank with a blank look on his face. Id grab the 35 cal Model 8 and give him a, " ca-thunk, ca-thunk, ca-thunk, ca-thunk, ca-thunk." til the action locked open.

Scott,

Is your model 8 a 35 Remington? I have one of those and I love that old gun. I have taken a couple deer with the old 35 and it is just a blast to shoot.

I have a 35 that groups nicely, a 30 that doesn't and a 25 that patterns like a shotgun. I bore scoped the 25 and won't again, ignorance is bliss and I have no plans to use it on game ever.

I did load two boxes of 200g speers for the 35 so I think I'm primed for the ca-thunk, ca-thunk, ca- thunk. Big Grin
