BitterrootCheck with SDH on this forum. Not sure if he has one but he might know of where to find a nice one.

470EDDYWOW!! You're looking for a needle in a haystack!!
They are NOT listed in The BLUEBOOK OF GUN VALUES.
RUGER Customer Service advises that 2018-2019 LIPSAY'S had a special run made K1A Light Sporter, Stainless, $1995!!
I do have a gunsmith who would rebarrel one for you, and it wouldn't take a year, maybe 3-6 months. PM me if you would like his contact. He dressed up a 95 Win for me, repaired a stock break for CHOPPERGUY, and built him a cool target rifle. He is good and reasonable!!
GOOD LUCK!!

470EDDYI just learned today in pursuing a 275 Rigby from Lipsay's in Louisiana did have Ruger run a Ruger #3 Sporter in 30-30 Win in 2018-19. They are sold out.
I would put up a Wanted to Buy ad on Guns International for $15 to try to find one.
Otherwise, find a smaller bore #3 you like and have rebored and rechambered. JES Engineering or OREGUNSMITHING do the work for about $450. A rebarrel is about $1000. Turn around is reasonable.
GOOD LUCK

ChiefR53Good luck in your pursuit of a custom No3 . They do make into a great little carbine. Mine is not for sale but and is one of my favorites.
I had PacNor fit and chamber a light 22 inch barrel in 20 Ackley Hornet. I rust blued it myself and fitted and finished an English walnut stock.
Turned out great and is a tackdriver. Has taken many Montana goghers.
Best wishes on your quest.

470EDDYThe Lipsey's runs are mostly only 250 each!! Makes these pretty scarce and valuable!!
The Ruger 77 edition, 275 Rigby's are advertised over $3000!!

FjoldI have a No. 3 but it's chambered in 30-40 Krag. I was thinking of getting it re-chambered to 300 H&H and adding a recoil pad but everyone tells me that the 30-40 is one of the rarer chamberings.

470EDDYYes, the 30-40 is a rare caliber in a #3 let alone a #1!!
I think you would have a recoil monster in 300H&H as well, and PH's don't like muzzle brakes either!!
Why don't you sell the 30-40 to the fellow looking for the 30-30, and buy a 300H&H that has the proper barrel weight and other features?

SingleShotGuy470EDDY and ChiefR53,
Thank you both very much for your comments.
I really am kind of looking for a needle in a haystack...I had a number of Ruger #3's made into customs by a great friend of mine, Bob Gipson, who was an outstanding rifle maker.
I decided on the #3, a bit trimmer than the #1 and made into a wonderful, light weight, easy-to-carry hunting rifle.
Custom barrel, custom quarter rib, English style butt stock, checkered steel butt plate, high quality walnut, ebony tip, recessed safety button, and a few other nice touches.
My goal was to maybe find one of those that I sold many years ago ( in the late 90's or early 2000's) or one that my old hunting partner sold as well, many years ago.
That's the REAL needle in a haystack, someone that bought one from us, and would possibly sell it.
Keeping my fingers crossed and maybe one will pop up!!!

470EDDYWOW!! That is a real needle in the haystack!!
I still would put up an ad on GUNS INTERNATIONAL in both CUSTOM RIFLES, and RUGER #1-3 Categories to see if you can locate one of them... then the challenge, convince the owner to sell, and negotiate price!!
GOOD LUCK... a great hunt!!... Maybe GUNS AMERICA as well, maybe more of a longshot??
