I had an SP10 and hunted geese many years with guys that had Ithaca 10 ga. In my experience, the Remington was hugely more reliable. Your results may be different.

I have had a Mag-10 since I was 16. Now grizzled and grey. :-). The only jams I ever had were shooting Federal ammo the first year. My dad took it to a gunsmith and he immediately asked if we were shooting Federal. . . and told us to switch. Thousands of rounds since with no issues.
I've used the hell out of mine and have yet to have an issue, thus the reason for looking for another. The Aya search is a new venture as I have heard good reports on them.
The Ithaca Mag 10 was designed for the then common rolled crimp 10 ga. shells. Shortly after it came out everyone went to the pie crimp, which the guns didn't like. Ithaca redesigned some of the parts to handle the 'new' shells. If you had one of the early guns they would rebuild it for you for free. I learned about this when I called them looking for an extractor and they asked for my serial no. When I told them they told me to return the gun and they would make the necessary mods. It has worked perfectly ever since. C.G.B.
