Gentlemen, this is one of the Argentine Model 1891 Mausers floating about in nearly pristine condition but with receiver scrubbed by Argentina and with the predictable rack/crate storage dents on the left side of the otherwise lovely walnut stock.

Sold it.

Beautiful rifle... I'd love to pick it up as it was the last of the run.

A friend just bid on a Parker Hale 1858 if I remember correctly, and WOW were we both shocked what it went for.

Bill, have you ever been interested in a firearm less than 100 years old? :-)

Jon, why yes -- and I have two very accurate Rugers for sale to you just below ...
Nathaniel, that's what makes the Parker Hales unaffordable for this poor old cowboy.

No, Jon. To finish flooring my house, I am sorry to say. Speaking of flintlocks, have you heard about Jim Kibler's flintlock kits? He takes CNC to a whole new level.
I bet if you ask politely they will let you have one in New Jersey. hilbily

Kibler’s kits are great. I went to an open house at his facility in Ohio & bought one of his kits. Everything fit perfectly - all you had to do was apply your chosen finish & assemble. Also, if you had questions, you can call & his staff is very knowledgeable. I’m thinking about buying another kit in another bore size. Excellent way to get a great flintlock & have fun building it. Jon could probably even do it. Well, that might be a stretch.

DOH! BTW, I always thought a flintlock was the perfect rifle to develop follow-thru in your shooting technique. If you lower the gun too soon you shoot the dirt in front of you....just ask Frank :-)

Jon, with a well-timed, quality lock and sharp flint, the ignition is instantaneous.
