For sale is a Satterlee built rifle with a custom Titanium Mauser and synthetic stock in 6.5-284. I don’t recall how I ended up acquiring this rifle, but I’ve had it a while and have not fired it. It does appear to have been fired, as there was fouling in the bore. I’ve attached borescope photos showing the throat and bore. The action appears to be a 7x57 length, as a 30-06 round is slightly too long to fit in the magazine. Dovetails for Talley rings are milled into the square bridges. The barrel is about 25”. The rifle has a few light handling marks, but otherwise is in excellent condition. The action appears to have a PVD finish, or something similar. It does not appear to be any type of painted on coating. The rifle as shown weighs 6lbs, 3.6oz. Not exactly sure what to ask. Near as I can tell, the titanium actions are about $7000 alone. Asking $7500 shipped. Photos in link below: Satterlee Rifle Photos https://photos.google.com/shar...bHlWMUhpS3dsS0ZjN0VR

Have one that is 3 serial numbers off from yours in 7x57, very nice action and rifle. Does this one have a steel or titanium bolt? Mac

I just checked it. The bolt is magnetic, so steel. The bolt shroud/safety is not magnetic, so I assume titanium.

Here's a little more info on it as I built it. Satterlee Gen.1 action (Taconic acquisition). Titanium intermediate length action, 3.150 internal mag length. Steel bolt, sculptured handle. Blackburn trigger. 24" fluted stainless Krieger barrel, long throat to take full advantage of the 284 case, (seat out) Bansner carbon stock. Bridges cut for Talley rings. .400 shooter. CAS II 2nd owner. Rifle built for a local SD resident, sold it to fund a divorce. Sold on commission in '17 or '18 to CAS II. WCC/PVD coated action, receiver bolt and bottom metal. WCC is very similar to DLC but more tungsten content. (slicker than DLC from a engineering point of view). Used to kill a few mule deer and shot in the .400 range with Kirks (original owner) load which was Magpro and a 139gr sst as I recall. Load data possibly still available as I still know the guy I built in for, round count of about 200 at the time of sale to CAS II, still a lot of life in that tube. Good rifle at a good price.
