Greeting AR Members

Time to thin the herd to fund other projects so I am putting up for sale a desirable Winchester Model 70 Classic Sporter in a slightly rare long-range caliber of 7mm Shooting Times Westerner. I am also selling a set of Redding dies and a significant quantity of brass that is very hard to find. The package details include the following:

Rifle
Winchester Model 70 Classic Sporter, controlled round feed, 26-inch barrel with 1:9” twist rate. The action and all metal are in excellent condition with no obvious marks or blemishes except for the bolt/extractor typical wear. The extractor has been replaced with a Williams extractor. The stock has a red Pachmayr recoil pad installed, an original finish, and no significant obvious dings or marks. The action has been glass-bedded and barrel free floated. The wood is straight-grained walnut with the Winchester finish, plain but functional. Screw heads are in good shape. The receiver is drilled and tapped but without plug screws. I just confirmed with Winchester that the rifle was made in 2002. The rifle has never been in the field, only on the range. I am selling it because I have other overlapping rifles. See copious photos for details.

The barrel has approximately 300 rounds through it. This rifle has demonstrated good accuracy as witnessed by the targets below with these load combinations, perfect elk medicine:

  • 175 grain Nosler ABLR (71.0 gr/IMR 7828SSC= 2915 fps, 0.591” four shots),
  • 168 grain Nosler ABLR (75.0 gr/IMR 7828SSC = 3109 fps, 0.466” four shots)
  • 160 grain Nosler Accubond (not LR) (76.0gr/IMR 7828SSC=3177fps,1.716” four shots).
    See target photos.

Also includes:

  • Redding 2 die set (typically a special-order item). The original standard expander button(included) has been replaced with a Redding carbide button ($40 value). The dies are in excellent condition, with no marks, rust, etc. They were used to reload about 300 rounds.
  • Redding #6 magnum Shell holder
  • Brass package consisting of:
  • Brass-1X fired Remington prepped-40
  • Brass-2X fired Remington prepped-47
  • Brass-2X fired Remington not prepped-60
  • Brass-3X fired Remington not prepped-20
  • Brass-Brand new Hornady-50
  • For a total brass count of 217 cases (brass alone probably worth $300)

I am asking $1500 for the package including shipping for all from my FFL to your FFL. I will send the brass and dies under separate cover USPS flat rate. I prefer a USPS Money order, but will take a personal check held for clearance. I am leery of using PayPal for gun transactions because the PP Nazis are assholes. I am happy to answer any PM questions or provide more details. I am not interested in breaking up the package or trades. The first public forum reply “I’ll take it” gets the sale based on the time stamp.

Thanks
Paul

Dpcd,

Not sure what you mean by "jammed up my Mac"? I posted 50 pictures. Are you not seeing them or are you teasing me for posting so many? Big Grin

If you are not seeing the total PM me and I will find another way to get them to you.

I am just giving you a free bump to the top, whilst commenting on the massive picture dump you have. Just never saw that many before, here.
Another free bump to the top.

Thank you sir for the bump...my apologies, yes I may have pressed the shutter button too many times and I cleaned the pictures up a bit. I just want to show anyone interested in the gun that it is in great shape, little fired, and has extras in the deal.
Thanks
