This is a classic British bird gun; a 12ga Charles Osborne boxlock. It has 30" fluid steel barrels in the typical English choke combination of IC-Full. It has nice wood, a rib extension "Doll's Head" top fastener, Prince of Wales grip, dual triggers and a gold initials medallion. It is nitro proofed and I believe the chambers are still for 2 1/2" shells, which are readily available. It has a very slight bit of play when the barrels are first attached to the receiver, but locks up tight when the forearm is attached. Weight is 6.8 lbs and LOP is 13 1/2" to a horn buttplate, so 14 1/2" with a recoil pad added. The barrel show bright and shiny. Our Pheasant club folded up a few years ago, so i don't have a needs for it. Check Guns Intl...some of these Osborne boxlocks sell for several thousand dollars. $950 + $45 shipping

Other than ejectors and a bit of engraving, not a lot different than this one. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/972339365

What is your source for 2.5" shells? I really like English SxS guns but so many have 2.5" chambers. Thanks! LTC, USA, RET Benefactor Life Member, NRA Member, SCI & DSC Proud son of Texas A&M, Class of 1969 "A man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?" Robert Browning

There are a bunch of sources. RTST is probably the most common, but there are quite a few others as well. https://www.ballisticproducts....Shells/products/188/ https://kentcartridge.com/ https://www.rstshells.com/

Could a 2.5 chamber be lengthened to 2 3/4? And if so, would it diminish the value and/or appeal of a British double? I'm sure it could, especially with fluid steel barrels, but there are plenty of factory loads for the 2 1/2" with most shot sizes if you wanted to forgo that step.

Wow, you've got me. Looks about the same as the Remington 870 12ga next to it in the safe.

How about $775 + $45 shipping. It's not perfect, but it's not $3,000 either :-)
