No politician who supports gun control should recieve armed protection paid for by those he is trying to disarm.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-scotch in one hand-Chocolate in the other-body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WHOO-HOO, WHAT A RIDE!!"

This is the long way around but years ago I wanted a 338 Ackley Improved barrel for my 200. If there is a bargain barrel in a smaller caliber, there are re-borers who can convert it. Mine was a damaged bore barrel in 270 Winchester and Cliff LaBounty bored and chambered it to 338 AI for me. Someone here on the forum bought the rifle years ago and I understand he's enjoying it quite a bit. Cliff told me the steel "cut like butter".

I gave this idea some thought but read somewhere special machining is required to cut the breach end of the barrel to fit the action. So I assume a factory barrel is the only way to go?

Kind regards,

Max
