Here is a 98 Mauser in 450 Marlin, Octagon barrel, open sights, with one piece Leupold base. Low scope bolt handle. XXX Fancy walnut stock. Pachmyer black pad. This was not finished and will need metal finishing, glass bedding, and feeding work. $675. Stock alone would cost that much.

I'm totally clueless on this. Is it possible to rechamber to 458 WM.

No, it is a lightweight 450 Marlin; rechambering it to 458 WM, would result in a rifle that would break your shoulder.
Besides the fact that the 450 Marlin belt is longer than the standard magnums.

It was definitely a nice project at a great price. The feeding issues is what scared me away from it and the caliber. Not a bad caliber but a hard one to make something different from. Glad it sold. I missed out on your 416 barrel a while back as I was gun poor right then! LOL.

Actually, I did a test with three dummy rounds and it feeds perfectly. I did not build it, and I guess I forgot about it, so I assumed it was not finished in the feeding job.

Everyone asks too many questions; if you want something; say so up front. I got at least 6 PMs with all kinds of questions; At the price I asked, you couldn't go wrong in any case.
Be bold and confident.
