outfitter: Ignacio Ruiz Gallardon & Alfonso Fabres (www.huntinspain.com)

Animals sought & hunted: Gredos Ibex and Mouflon

Areas hunted : Messaslanas game reserve in the Gredos mountains and Salamanca.

It all started when my friend Ignacio Ruiz Gallardon hunted with me two years ago in Sindh-Pakistan. He told me about Ibex hunting or Capra as they call it in Spain. it was not until mid December 2011 that i booked this hunt along with my friend Majeed.

we were recieved by the outfitter at the Madrid airport and left for Gredos mountains rightaway, after a couple hours drive through some beautiful country we reached the mesaslanas game reserve in the heart of Gredos mountains.

the accomodation was a very nice, cosy and clean mountain hunting cabin with all the facilities including hot shower and a comfortable bed. the food was very very nice and the game keepers were friendly, professional and one of them could play excellant guitar.

Majeed and myself both got excellant Gredos Ibex trophies mine was 14 years old Gold medal so i was over the moon but if you ask me i truely deserved the gold medal trophy as you can see from the video i will post later i took a very bad fall crossing a river while stalking the animal.

After the Ibex hunt we travelled to the Salamanca province where i was supposed to be hunting Mouflon at the base of gredos mountains, i thought this would be a piece of cake but i finally got my trophy on the third day of the hunt,, it was a very good mouflon according to spanish standards and i am very happy with it.

i know i would be interested in seeing the pics more than reading so here goes.

The trophy room of our host Ignacio.

next stop was Salamanca Province where i hunted the Mouflon, this province is famous for breeding the best fighting bulls in the world.

What a great video! The trophy room pictures made my mouth water. I am sorry you took a fall, but I believe that bad things happen so that you can appreciate the good, and it was good - beautiful Billy and Ram!

Great hunt Danish.

That trophy room loos fantastic. He seemed to have an Astor markhor, Pir Panjal markhor & the hybrid markhor on the right. Am I right?

The various argali were also stunning.
