I'm in on the AR driven-boar hunt this November in Croatia and know very little about how it works (and what I think I know is probably wrong) and I'd like to buy the "Shooting At Running Game" DVD by BLASER.

Unfortunately it isn't on the list of things that BLASER USA can import -- can't even special order it for me SOOOOO if there is a kind soul out there who could buy me a copy and ship it to me I'd be very appreciative. I don't know the best way to pay but a Cashier's Check from Bank of America is good for me (I'd guess it would be in US dollars but I can ask if they'll do anything else).

I'd also like one of the orange BLASER caps with the Argali ram' head on it.

I would, of course, make payment in advance.

I know the DVD is in the PAL-Region 2 format but I have a player that will handle it.

Is this any good?

My experience of boar hunting is that it is a little like the old cliche about war - 99% utter boredom, 1% pure adrenalin.....

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Another option is to contact the UK dealer direct, they might ship to the US and it might be easier as you could pay with your credit card and get a fast service. I've always found Alan Rhone, the UK distributer, great to deal with:

I appreciate that Blaser might have the world carved up but I'm sure a phone call would get you access to stuff that just isn't available in your part of the world.

I agree 100%; here, on the average, during the whole 3 months boar season, about 25 driven hunts, the average hunter should be satisfied with killing 2 boars and with 3-4 dead boars one must be really happy; during the other 19-20 outings, the average hunter should content himself with hearing barking dogs and other hunters shooting.

I don't understand the problem.

I order from www.triebel.de all the time. If you got to their contact page and send them an email or call, they will ship you what you need. You will pay for it pretty heavily in shipping. The Blaser DVDs sold in Germany are in Germany only, I have a feeling this one is only available in German.

Hunters Videos DVDs namely the Wildboar Fever, and Wildboar Fever 2 are available as well. They are in multiple languages. They come that way. All you are doing is telling them what language you want the box in. www.huntersvideo.dk or www.huntersvideo.com I have ordered from them several times. Easy to do.

I have seen all these videos as I own all three. I don't know what you would get out of the Blaser video as the language is the problem.

I think the best practice you could get would be to do as others have said and take a scope sighted rifle or shotgun with a similar scope to the one you plan on using on the driven hunt to the sporting clays range and shoot a crossing rabbit target in the fur and feather station.

Bill something else to think about is that some nations in Europe have a law on drive hunt rifles that says no scope with a low power high than 2. So you have to shoot something like a Aimpoint, a 1.5-6, 1-5, 1.7-10 and so on.

Pete --- I'm going to e-mail them and see if we can do it that way instead of having someone pick it up and then mail it. Easier for me to use my credit card and just have them stick it in the mail. If that doesn't work I'll get back to you ---- and thanks.

D99 --- the Blaser catalog shows their's with case in English so I hope that's the case otherwise I need to brush up on my college German.

I'm also going to order the 2 you listed from Hunter's Video.

I don't want to screw up because of lack of preperation.

There aren't any rabbits I can shoot with a .22lr here in California but I've come up with an idea. I'm going to buy one of the new Fast-Fire sights that fit between the stock and receiver on my Beretta 390 trap-gun (and put in my extra-full choke) and shoot a couple of boxes a week at the "rabbit" target on the local 5-stand range....not quite like a running boar but it will be better than nothing.

I might also have them lower the targets on the skeet field and stand back about 30 yards or so and shoot a lot of left to right and right to left crossers with the same extra-full choke. The range isn't that busy during mid-week and as I'm retired I don't think the range-master will mind.

I've seen the first one from Hunters Video and it is Superb indeed.

I might look into getting the second one as this is the first I've heard of it.

The very nice lady (Felicity) at Blaser*UK took care of my order and even saved me a few dollars as I don't need to pay the VAT etc and they should be here in 5 days or so. Thanks to all and especially Peter.
