My wife and I will be leaving on Sept 19 to go hunting with Fernando Siaz. Red Deer, Gredos Ibex, Fallow and maybe a Mufflon are the docket. We have never been to Spain and are excited to hunt and do some site seeing. I will post some pictures when we return.

The average man's love of liberty is nine-tenths imaginary. It takes a special sort of man to understand and enjoy liberty; and he is usually an outlaw in democratic societies.

What do you recommend we "must" do while in Madrid. I am spending two days prior to the hunt. We will be staying at the Wellington.

Recommend lots of eating in Madrid. The food and wine is fabulous.
My wife and I hunted with Fernado last Dec. I did the 4 Ibex and a Mouflon. You will enjoy yourselves.

We have been having a wonderful time hunting with Felipe. We took a very nice red stag this morning. We are now in Gredos to go after an Ibex.

@crl
a "must" in Madrid.

When you are in Madrid. So do not hesitate to visit the Mercado de San Miguel, and try the different stands with everything your stomach could desire, all kinds of tapas, cheese, ham and a glass of good wine, The market lie a few meters from "Plaza Mayor" with the tourist office, in Plaza Mayor I have experienced market on Sundays.

By hunting equipment, the only thing I was lucky to find was small branch in Centro Gallego, lying on the Plaza de Jacinto Benavente, they have a small section with hunting clothes and a few weapons.

I really enjoyed our trip to Spain... so much so I am planning a return trip for Southeastern and Ronda ibex next!

Sounds like you are already enjoying the hunt! Best of luck on the ibex!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
