I wonder if there is someone kind enough to help me out with a problem.

I have a really nice Steyr Luxus in 308 caliber.

While shipping through UPS, the hard case was damaged at one end, unfortunately it was where I had the bolt(which I had taken out and wrapped for shipping). Bottom line, UPS lost the bolt. I have tried various ways to contact Steyr to see if I can obtain a replacement bolt assembly. The US reps say "NO" but they are not helpful at all.

Any ideas? Anyone have a contact at Steyr?

Thank you

A luxus? Good luck! That Steyr-Mannlicher that made that gun, and the Steyr-Mannlicher of today are not the same company.

Just flicking thru their website; found Mr. Bauer's name in the photos. No sense trying to impress a Middle Manager Dweeb in this instance. Perhaps staring at the top may help you?

Good Luck on your attempt to obtain a bolt.

I sold mine to LL Beans in Freeport, Maine a few months ago. They still have it in the display case, it was a 270. So you could buy it for $1200 and split the bolts time between both rifles, if the headspace works out.

Thank you gentlemen for your replies, I will try contacting Mr. Bauer first, since my efforts so far have not worked.

Thanks again.

Sorry to hear!
I remember talking to a guy in Norway who lost his bolt during hunting. That was also a Steyr Luxus.
I'm not sure if this worked out, but I know it wasn't easy.
I just can't remember who it was. I'll let you know if I do remember.

Good luck!

I manage transportation among other things for a company that ships about 400 relatively big, heavy and delicate things through UPS every day. Get about the same number inbound. Relatively little damage to these goods.

I hear about a lot of damaged guns through UPS & Fedex. My Son In Law had a brand-new aluminum gun case totally destroyed recently; fork lift right through the case. Anyone else have a similar experience? Is something going on that could be a "program of Harrassment".
