I know this is probably in the wrong area but I thought I would get more responses in the European forum area. Has anyone had any experience with the new Mauser rifles in the M 03 designation yet? I see Sigarms is supposed to be the importer but they are not listed on their website. They do list the Mauser Magnum with the traditional Mauser action.

I have never seen one in Spain. Then again, there are no large gunshops cateriering to the more lavish taste where I live.

I do know that it's a change barrel rifle, and I do know that where I live they cost around E3000. or $3900.

I have no idea what SIG will charge for one.

I would call Mad Dog Guns in AZ and ask them. You can get there phone number from www.gunbroker.com do a search for Blasers.

I don't imagine anyone but SIG trophy dealers will get to sell them. Cabelas would be another choice.

I had a look at Kettner store and totted the Mauser 03.
A nice rifle correctly balanced. I like its classical and modern look (I dislike the blaser93).
It seems sturdy and trustworthy. The barrels are the same as the Blaser's. One can hope a splendid accuracy.

I wish it a better luck than the Mauser96. It was a cheap rifle, I used it to stalk deer in the Scotland, my God what an accurate rifle. It could not compete with the innovative Blaser93.One was sorrowful about the availability of Mauser96 spare parts. Good news, RWS is selling it again.

A close friend had ordered two months ago a Mauser03 and is still waiting for. I lended him my customised Mauser98 375HH during this driven hunting season. He hopes to get it in February???????????

The agent for Portugal has already received several rifles and I had the opportunity to handle one.
I find it a well-balanced rifle, with a very smooth bolt, but with a huge drawback: - the cocking system is a real pain in the a$$! In order to cock the rifle one has to use his thumb in a left-right movement and that cant be easily achieved.
If this is not so important, most of the time, it is extremely important when DG is your quarry!
The philosophy behind this rifle (easily replaceable barrels and bolt-heads) is the same as the R93s (and several others) but, IMHO, with more disadvantages than advantages.

We discussed these last summer - with the expected difference of opinion (This is AR, after all ). Here is a link to that thread:
