AHHHHHSO

I will be down for that soon but my syndicate take a whole week every year in the highlands so thats why I asked perhaps some folks might like to meet up somewhere for a drink.

I love the feeling of stalking in the highlands so once a year is a change from hunting in the south.

Did you say pigs ...............

Ben, the 260 is due over here next week. It has been "next week" for a the past month, but I think it really will be next week. I will report in due course.

I too will be heading to the south west instead, though this time I won't bother to bring the call - too many cattle answer! Roll Eyes Big Grin

Ian - any sign of rutting? When do you reckon the peak is. My ground holds some hinds but I reckon I'd be better off trying when they are travelling which might be early. What do you reckon.

Ben, just for you, here is a photo of the 260 in it's semi-finished state about ten days ago. This was taken on a mobile phone and texted to me.

It is due back from proof tomorrow, the smith has a few hours work to do finishing it of and recrowning the barrel.

I hope to have it at the end of next week:

I have been visiting a few parks over the last week or so - and the big boys are starting to roar. However, not heard any wild beasts bawling so far. Tend to think that your best chances are catching up with a wanderer if your ground does not normally host a rutting stag.

Don't leave that call behind - the buzz when you get a beast trotting in is one you won't forget. If it's a cow you can always milk it! Wink

Do you reckon they wander more at the start? For me it's next weekend or nothing really.
