A winter hunt for grouse

Hunting grouse is one of the most popular hunts in Norway. Most people hunt them during September-October, but I really enjoy hunting them during winter. It's a difficult hunt, and one seldom gets lots of chances.

The goal is not to flush them, but to spot them with your binos. Then stalk to within shooting range. They're not a big target, so shooting at them at 200 yards in stiff crosswind isn't the way to go Smiler

Here's a little video I made recently. Two shots, one bird...

Posted it on my blog, as I couldn't figure out how to embed it in the post.

NP - my pleasure.

I'll try to explain:

1. Go to You tube where the clip is played - Klick "embed".
2. 4 tick Options will appear below the window with embed code - only tick the last one "use old embed code".
3. Copy the embed code.

When posting on AR
1. tick the icon with "film" next to the "pic" icon and the folowing will appear: [FLASH_VIDEO][/FLASH_VIDEO]
2. paste the copied embed You tube code [FLASH_VIDEO] HERE [/FLASH_VIDEO].

Well done mate!

Of course it's no doubt a formality spotting them from up there, us more earth-bound creatures can only really look on enviously...

Kiri still hasn't stopped talking about those fallow you spotted three hills and a wood away.... Big Grin
