I think it was in the early to mid 1990 s both zeiss and sworowski made fixed 4x scopes...which they both discontinued later.....i was luckey to have come across two 4x zeiss scopes but now feel i need a fixed 4x sworowski .....are there many of these scopes still avaliable in europe second hand or new for that matter

daniel,

Thinking back,I don't ever recall seeing a x4 Swarovski so I would say they were never as common as the x4 Zeiss.. You might also want to consider x4 by either meopta or S&B as well...most current S&B scopes seem to have slightly better figures for eyerelief than either Zeiss or Swarovski if that is a consideration,

Regards,

Pete

It would be possible to pick one up in a month or so if you rang all the advertisers in GunMart.

I have seen a couple in the flesh and a few advertised. Good scopes.

Hi,

I saw one last monthat a Swarovski day in the gunshop.

I had an interesting chat with the rep, and fiddled with all the scopes. The 4x is on the list for the future buff hunt I'm planning.

What will you be using it for?

Hi Daniel,

I picked up a 4X Swaro scope 2nd hand in Aust. a couple of years ago. I had it mounted on my 30/06 until recently when I started to do some more handload development. It will go back on the same rifle once I've settled on a good handload. I think it's a wonderful hunting scope.

Hi Daniel,

Try this place, 2nd hand scopes . They are not the cheapest in the world but they are all good. I have got several S&B scopes from here and although 2 nd hand they have never disappointed in their quality. Gregor, the owner, is not a difficult man to deal with and is always open to "negotiation".

Hope this is of help

John

Die Category to look in is "Jagdzubehoer", then select "Zieloptiken"

I bought a 4x32 Swar. in 1985 and it's still on one of my guns. A good and reliable scope, although you might hesistate to put it on a bigger gun because of short eye-relief.

Probably about 250 or so. I have not been aware of any short eye relief and anyhow it has the sprung eyecup.
