Did this ever grow legs?

I need access to a deer dog in the Wiltshire/Hampshire area and was hoping to make some connections from this.

I don't think the national deer dog register ever really took off - there's too much slating and bitching in the UK stalking world to make any co-operative venture viable! There was a lot of "my Bavarian MH cost £1000 so must be a better deer dog than your labrador" kind of stuff.

The Stalking Directory enables members to show if they have a trained deer dog available, so that other stalkers can make contact via PM with guys with dogs in their area. That might be your best bet for finding someone and swapping mobile numbers - I turn out with my GWP and HSV when needed in my area for a couple of local stalkers on SD.
