Fallow BuckGreat story again!!!
i was in Austria for a wedding earlier in the year in Kitzbhuel and the local hunting tradition is really evident with each house/chalet displaying Red stag and Chamois trophies in their eaves.

trans-pondAnother good article... looks like he moderated his ranges and shot placement choices compared with the earlier chamois exploits! Maybe he had some adverse/ doubting correspondence.

BoghossianAre there any records on German trophies taken through the years?
I am curious whether the trophy management undertaken shows a net increase in trophy size over the years.
While the author does take a nice stag, there are much larger animals taken each year nowadays. Is that just a result of WWII leading to a reduction in numbers...or was this truly a great stag for the area?

Fallow BuckApparently still, in Austria all Chamois trophies taken need to be submitted to the annual chamois exhibiton whhere all the heads are displayedover a weekend. After the exhibition they are sent to the hunters.
Not sure if there is somethign similar in Germany.
