We have bad weather for hunting with frosen snow nighttime and smelting daytime,no new snow for tracking. We tried to hunt by a lynxtaken roedeer yesterday but we had no luck this time. Tracking were made by foot and with a stövare (foxhound) in the middle of a small village. A lot of tracks but probably to old. In that village they have seen a female lynx and three cubs and trere is probably more. Now they have only one roedeer that they have seen.
I hope for new snow next week so we easyer can find tracks.

We have lynx all around my house here in Alaska. I see new tracks everyday on my wood lot trail when I ride snowmachine cutting nx years wood for heating. I think it's mainly seasonal, I think they are having their hungry cubs, why I see so many tracks as they look for snowshoe rabbits (main food source). Elect predator calls work for our lynx.

They have mating season here now that is making them more active than usual. They have to eat a lot during the vinter, here the main prey is roedeer(about 20kg carcass weight). Cubs come later in the spring.
