I don't know anyone that has a Sauer SSG 3000 here, they are just too rare. I have one on lay-away and I am trying to learn more about it.

It is a 308, and I understand that 22 LR barrels are available. I also understand that it is basically a 202 and that I can take it out of the stock and put a 202 type stock on it, but this is more of a guess than a real knowledge, just from what I can see from looking at it.

I need whatever information you have.

But I have a few particular questions.

1. Can I use 202 barrels on it?
2. Can I use 202 stocks on it?
3. Whatever else you know please share.

Thanks again, Waidmannsheil!

Seth

I have ever only seen one Law-enforcement variant in the hands of a SWAT officer. From a distance the action looked exactly like a normal S202, but i never got close enough for proper "inspection". I doubt they have made any massive changes, from what i saw, it's just a 202 with a heavy barrel, tactical stock and bigger magazine. The only change obviously visible was a diffrent integral scope mount. The heavy tactical barrel might not fit the standars stocks, though.
I haven't heard of 22LR barrels beeing offered for it. They recently introduced a .22 LR conversion kit for their pistols, maybe that sparked the rumors of .22 rifle kits as well.

I saw 2 strange critters, looking like american raccoons; what kind of animal can this be?

They are either american Racoons or Racoon dogs. Both exhist in Europe.

Dachsbar is the name of a Racoon in German.

I don't know what the German name of a Racoon dog is. Dachshund?

I talked to 3 different Sauer gunsmiths working for SIG Sauer USA and Blaser USA. All of them are telling me that the Sauer 3000 will not accept any barrels from the Sauer 202. And no one here knows why.

If someone could please call Sauer in Suhl for me and find out more information I would "love you long time"!

Thanks

Seth

from what i've heard the SSG 3000 is more or less the same rifle as the 200 STR(Scandinavian Target Rifle), only with a synth stock and a more "tactical" look.
and since there is no reason to change barrels on their 6.5x55 target rifles.
maybe that's why, but its only a guess.
