Pete do you think someone should ask Andy if we can use his photo?

I shouldn't think he would be too fussed. He seemed pretty chilled.

Although he make his living by selling photos to wildlife magazines I believe he was happy to let DeerUK have a few pictures. I am sure he would take it as a compliment.

Folks,

As most of you will have realised, Don is now able to tag an Icon pic against the Forum title and there are quite a few already.

If folks would like to post a suitable photo here, perhaps we could take a vote and I will ask Don to sort it out for us...

If we can have say half a dozen pics by tomorrow evening and then we will see which is the most popular.

Once its been up a while, I am sure if we ask Don, he will let us swap it for something else..

Regards,

Pete

How about one of those blue flags with the little starry ring in it?

Tongue firmly in cheek.

I also like the leaping roe buck and I think the roe buck is also quite special for Europe!

Alternatively - what about a wild boar?

Best regards,

Erik

Erik,

I thought a few more people might have mentioned wild boar as well as to me it does have a distinctive European feel to it...If you can find a decent wild boar pic, we can put it up in a few weeks time...

With regards the leaping Roe buck pic, I have seen it on a couple of sites but the original is from the deer-uk site I think....

Regards,

Pete

No Erik,
if I had to choose something of alternative that gave me a thrilling feedback my choice should be a roaming red stag with a very very big trophy a (35/45K trophy to be understood) or the same bull looking for a challenging bull.... That I should choose

Hi Pete,
leaping buck gets my vote,
perhaps we should have a song that is the very essence of stalking.....
My nomination is: "raindrops keep falling on my head"

That photo was taken by a professional wildlife photograther called Andy Rouse. I attended a lecture he gave last year. I believe it was taken in the south west of England.

Pete...
Exellent choice !!
The roe is found from the high north Norwegian coastal landscape, via the British isles, to the sentral, south and east Europe.
A challenge to stalk, a beauty to watch and a treat to eat
