Hey Johan & NE 450 #2

Thanks for your suggestions, but what you guys don't get is that Tuzi is a wildcatter, and therefore any thought of practicality, thrift, resale value, or even common sense just doesn't apply.

You should think of advice for someone who will go to any amount of expense and hassle to do something that only he understands the value of doing.

Now surely someone here knows of a gunsmith that customizes Blasers and can rebarrel one for these arcane cartridges.

Also, do hot reloads blow these guns up or send the bolt down your throat? What was all the hubbub about in the European hunting community; anything of substance or just unsubstantiated rumor?

I can understand that the look or design does not meet everyone's approval. What I want to know is, are these guns safe to shoot with hot reloads, and if they aren't, are there any pictures or names of actual people who blew them up.

Alan,
about Blaser I saw only a competition rifle having problem in chambering neck sized only reloaded cartridges, but it worked normally with full size reloaded rounds.

By my opinion is the same story of 1891 Carcano rifles, that for Americans put the bolt in shooter's head, and for German industries were strong enough to shoot 8x57js after a rebarrelling .... foolish things, fantasies, Metropolitan legend .....speaking a not XXX rated language
bye

Alan......no rifle is safe to shoot with "hot" reloads. The standard answer is..."if you want more velocity or the same velocity with a bigger bullet, get a bigger cartridge".

I wish rifles had a computer chip in them and could talk to the shooter after each shot...maybe 3 or 4 or more programmed responses....

#1 "Thank you! That felt good and the barrel should last another 2000 rounds."

#2 "Well done! Very efficient."

#3 "Hey! Be careful! This load is warm I'm beginning to get a little nervous. Please back off a little."

#4 "ARE YOU IMPAIRED? WHAT PART OF BACK OFF DID'T YOU UNDERSTAND YOU #&Wink#@%?* IDIOT? THAT'S IT! I'M CALLING AN ADULT."

I think #4 would be the perfect spot for a "disconnect" switch to kick in...kind of like the "kill" switch on some cars to prevent drunks from driving but in this case it would keep idiots from hurting those around them.

Alan,

I have been reloading for the R93 (9,3x62 and .300 WM) with no problems.
I don't load hot loads and I wouldn't feel comfortable doing so with a Blaser.
I know only of one Blaser R93 (.300WM) blowing up and according to the portuguese Blaser agent it had to do with reduced loads.

I read somewhere that R93 barrels are being made by Lottar Walter. They probably could help.
