Well I need to start reloading for my 9.3x62. I have dies, Lapua brass and a supply of Woodleigh 286gr bullets. Now for the powder. The only powder I have on hand is Vihtavuori N140. It seems like this may be a decent place to start and it's also about the cheapest powder available to me here in Switzerland. However the velocities in the reloading manual appear a little low.

Any European reloaders want to throw some suggestions my way?

I use N135 and N 140 in my 9,3, while the loads I use are maximun the velocity is aroun 2300 fps with the 286 grs Nosler, accuracy is wonderful, and truthfully I have never have been a big velocity seeker. The game I have used this load on has always fallen to one shot

In my preferences N135 comes before N140, but just a little bit

most of the time I tend to use 250 grains bullets (ballistic tip or barnes x). The powder to use is Norma 203 B, at least here in Scandinavia where it's easy to get. I have also been using N-540 but I'm getting about 100 fps lower muzzle velocity with N-540 (2500 fps with N-540 and 2600 with N-203B) With 286 grain bullets I get really close to 2400 fps with N-203B.

I have been using, for quite a long time, 56 grains of N140 topped with a 286 grain Lapua Mega or Sellier & Bellot SP, using Lapua or RWS brass and a CCI 200 primer.
This load runs about 2250 feet on my R93 and so far no wild boar, on “montaria†or from high seat, has complained about it!
I suppose that with a Woodleigh there will be no big difference.

I'm not sure if the Alliant powders are available in Europe. However, I think Norma 203-B is very close to RL-15. (I think they are both made by Bofors in Sweden if I'm not mistaken. They may actually be the same powder. See the thread Norma Manual - any good ? for more info. )

Unless you've got connections here in Europe and can obtain RL Powders (if you can let me know!) the best you're gonna do with the 9.3x62 will be with VV N-140 IMHO.

I found the 9.3x62 very easy to reload using:
the 255 grain Geco RN bullet over Rottweil R902, and the 286 grain Lapua Mega bullet over Rottweil R903.
Rottweil powders were bought in CH.
