Roe deer is most likely in late spring or early summer, or from early August and onwards. So you'll most likely be leaning towards soft cottons in olive drab or green colours - no camo if you want to please your host. See also this thread for more information. This was a tad more directed at winter or cold weather hunting, but you might be able to benefit from this discussion: European Clothing Thread - mike

Micky, Do you have any other details of the hunt? Time of year or whether stalking/still hunting or shooting from stands/highseats? Quiet waterproof clothing would be my first thought along with some decent boots; weight will depend on the season of course. I would recommend you stay away from vibram soles if still hunting and use a softer sole such some of the bearclaw units which are popular in the States. A decent pair of 8x30mm or 7x42mm is also a must unless doing a driven hunt. If you don't use a pair of sticks, you might want to make some and give them a try as they are very commonly used in Europe both for shooting off and steadying your bino's. Regards, Pete

I picked up a Roe Deer hunt over the weekend. It is in Bavaria and the Czech Republic. I don't need a rifle as they will supply it but do need some input. What to wear and what else to look at when I'm over there.
