Can any of you out there tell me the difference between Zeiss Diavari "V" series and "Z" series scopes?

There seems to be a fair price difference between them but no obvious info on the technical merits of these scopes.

Thank you in advance.

The V series has longer eye relief, and a newer/better lense coating.

I seem to recall that the V's are a bit lighter too, when compairing Z's and V's of the same size, but may be wrong.

So would £350, or $600 be a decent price for a Diavari V 2.5-10x50 listed as being in "as-new" condition?

This has the standard no4, non-ill reticule.

Thanks lads.

That`s a very good price. At least when compared to prices for new ones here in Norway!

Not only is it a good price, it is also a great power of scope.
I use a Zeiss 2.5-10x50 with illuminated no 4 reticule with my 7x64.

Probably my over-all favourite for European hunting. Great compromise between low light performance and moderate size. The #4 reticle is my favourite for low light hunting, yet allowing you precise shots due to the cross hairs (as opposed to the #1). The price sounds like a steal.

Repeat after me, Brian is a plonker, Brian is a plonker...

I was top bidder on this scope on Ebay. Went in with less than a minute to go, was winning at £321 and put a top bid of £360 on. Some S##t obviously had the sniper software in operation and slipped a higher bid in with 5 seconds to go. Somebody out there got this scope for £363. I checked the buggers feedback, he also bought a S&B 3-12x50 and a Meopta 7x50 in the past month. Spent over a grand on scopes in 3 weeks. Could be a dealer??
