Just came across this gents

I've had my shotgun certificate 13 years now and baring the first visit I've always had it renewed over the phone. Where as I've just renewed the firearms certificate and that I was told has a compulsory visit - even if nothing has changed. I can't quite figure out what the difference is, they're both gun licences - shouldn't they both require a visit?
