To all my fellow european hunters

Gladly I am going to Europe in a short time I will be visiting Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and a couple more (just in that order)

My primary concern is to find cases for my 8x68S ....Can anyone of you answer my questions ? Please specify country in which your answer might apply

1 - Is the purchase of such cases a free commercial act or does it have to be approved by the government (remember I will be a foreigner) In case it does, please tell me how ...Is any limit applied - my intention is to buy one hundred cases, fifty at least
2 - Recommended places where to buy this cases , and if they can be ordered by internet please post me link in case it is (I wont have much time to go around, since is a business trip ...)
3 - Aproximately price

Thank you all in advance

Hey Afrikaander,
1) its total free to get them, you dont need any documents or paperwork. Just go in a shop and by them
2) Kettner / Frankonia
3) depends if u are looking for new ones or already fired ones?

If u are in Germany and do have a local adress where i can send a parcel too...i may can get some for you for a special price. Not new ones but used (one time fired) ones.
If u are interested, drop me a line.

In Spain you may buy them with no paperwork involved.

You won't find them on any dealer's shelf so you would need to order them in advance, let's say 4 weeks, to be sure.

If you ever happen to come through Madrid I do not mind ordering them for you and escorting you around.

My dealer orders them from R. Johansen in Germany, and price is that on R.J's catalogue, 20.1 euros per 20 cases, or 93.50 euros per hundred.

I'm not totally sure what 8x68S brass you can get other than RWS?? 8x68S shooters, educate me! Hirtenberger, maybe?

The RWS brass is certainly solid enough, in fact it is the toughest, meanest, son-of-a-gun brass I have ever had the "pleasure" of working with. When you want to de-burr other brass, you have to go a bit lightly lest you remove too much material, easy does it. Not so with the RWS 8x68S! There you really have go for it to make the least impression on the brass. Speak of "Panzer" brass! I expect it will last a looong time!

In the US you can get 8x68 brass from the "Old Western Scrounger" online. It is not the quality of RWS but a lot less expensive.
Good Luck!

mho,

Hirtenberger and Blaser produce 8x68S brass as well.

in my experience, RWS is far better, though.

One of the best shops in Belgium is Frank in Lommel Belgium.
They stock almost any shell you can imagine!

Also very good is hunting Sport in Luxemburg (Town Stadtbredimus). In Belgium you can buy them without license; in Luxemburg in think you have to show a hunting license or a permit. http://www.hunting-sport.com/

I have just bought 100 5.6x50r and 60 6.5x57R from a person in Germany who advertises over Ebay. He gets the factories brass that is used for test firing rifles before they go out. The price was cheap and the quality excellent.

I have asked him if he has 8x68s in stock and can ship to the US.
