Yep, it is. I use the RWS stuff and it's good quality, can't tell you much about the Hirtenberger stuff though. Mine is a combi, 20ga/7x65R and I have found I like the cartridge better than the 7mm Rem Mag, most likely due to the lower velicities working better at closer ranges.

Here in Switzerland, the 7x65R RWS cases are about USD1.10 (CHF1.35) a piece. If one is patient enough and accepts working with 1'ce fired brass, one can pick up enough cases on the range for a lifetime of shooting. The 7x65R is one of the "standard" cases around here for combined (shot/rifle) guns. - mike P.S. can't say much about the Hirtenberger cases. But RWS has the better name as far as reloading is concerned. Hirtenberger factory ammo is often considered suspect (right or wrong?) in terms of accuracy.

Hi Daniel, Why the interest in 7x65R in Australia? Do you own one or are planning to buy one? Just curious. -Stu

Hmm, let me know if you find out how much it is in Oz. I've been collecting a bit of the once-fired stuff at the range here for when I return home and have my Ruger #1 waiting for me next year. It's one of the more common cartridges around here.

I believe that Huntington's in the US stocks them. They have started importing RWS. Huntington's

I don't know if there is any problem (custom, paying of freight, costs of freight) but I will scrap some MEN brass (also good quality) and some others within the next weeks. I just shot the factory load and stored till yet. Not much but some. But now I have no space to store any longer. So you could have it. But I don't know whether it is worth to send the scrap arround the world. And nothing else is it. BR

M98, don't know what this would cost in the States (check Huntington website), but it ALMOST sounds like it might be worth buying and shipping you some boxes (20 cases each) from Europe. Price here in Switzerland is about AUS$30 for 20. Add some shipping, and it might still be worth it??? Do you have import or custom issues on your end?? - mike

Daniel, didn't get your email. Try sjcampbell70@yahoo.co.uk or send me a PM. $50-60 must be for loaded ammo, right? Not just brass
