FB,
My 200 came in yesterday and it is a beauty. The fit and feel of the rifle topped off with the Zeiss Diatal C is perfect for me. I did finally find the post with the Sauer info you posted (I am senile)and it looks like we have a pretty good selection of barrels at hand. Hmmmmm maybe a 9.3X62 plus a 6.5X55 Hmmmmm "divorce court" We are having some family over today for Thanksgiving and my wife is already starting to cause trouble, she is insisting that I move the Sauer off of the dinning room table (some people are no fun at all) Take care and God bless. I will keep you posted on the groups this lady will shoot.

Hi all,

Just picked up the new toy in 308win...

Finished scoping it inand got in the car to go home. There was a fox sat not 50 yds away from where the target had been on the other side of the hedge.

I had a crack at him from about 250yds, but I think I got the windage wrong!! He didn't hang about.

I think I'll need to be back out with the lamp before the pheasants and ducks arrive next week.

That looks pretty - I have a low self esteem when it comes to trying to keep things of beauty looking their best. Think I'd be scared to take it out!

Sauer 202 ! Congratulations, I bet you'll soon find out it's the best and most accurate out-of-the-box rifle you ever bought. I acquired mine, a 7x64, in '95 and it's been my favourite deer rifle ever since.

Thanks,

Ian, the guys all laugh at me as I like a nice bit of wood, but am overly careful of my guns. I got it to take to Africa next year, and I'm already worrying about all the spiky stuff!!

I got an invite back upto Suffolk again the other day, so it may not have to wait for the Fallow season to open before I christen it. Fingers crossed!!!

A very nice Sauer with great wood! I don't worry too much about some scratches etc. as it just shows that the rifle is used as intended. It kind of gives the rifle a bit of history. Have fun hunting with it!

Nifty! I'm sure it is too nice to take stalking. So why don't I just send you my address, and you can mail it to me for safekeeping??

Mike,

How on earth can I refuse such a generous offer...

I decided that I can't wait until July for the harvest to come off before I get it out, so I'm off to see a mate next week to "help" him out with his deer problem... It's a tough life but someone has to do it!!

Fallow Buck,
Welcome to the 202 club. That is a gorgeous piece of wood. I have totally fallen in love with them, have 3 now. If you are reloading try 47grains of reloader 15 behind a 150 grain NBT or similar. It should give you one hole groups!
Cheers

Fallow Buck,

Is that an extra or up-graded wood that you paid for?

It is gorgeous...

Congratulations.

Thanks for the reloading tip. At the moment I'm shooting Sako Super Hammerhead 150gr through it. I read the threads on these rounds and know there are some disgrunteled posters, but I will be switching to the 165gr barnes-X in preparation for my Africa trip. A friend shot that combo on plains game and it worked a treat.

Montero,

My aforementioned friend is a gun dealer so we waited for a good avantegarde to turn up. Another friend bought the same gun in .243 for foxing and his wood was as good if not better. You can actually upgrade further than this and get a choice of roeswood/applewood or something else. Those options come with some special hand engraving. A little OTT for me though. I had a brochure I could have posted to you but I have lost it.

Currently looking for a fluted barrel for my friends .243 in .270 for a trip up on the stags... I told him he can still use the .243 but he doesn't believe me.

Loads of deatils on the website for the extras you can get on them.
SAUER TOYS

Regards,
