Hi all,
well looks like This posting pics lark is quite easy after all !!
This buck was my 3rd this season, again with my trusty .222
I lay and watched it for ages...I like to observe such beautiful animals, and have been lucky enough to see several bucks battling it out over the years, now that is exciting!!
This buck was shot at about 100 metres and I went for the neck as conditions were perfect, and I had all the time in the world.
plus no meat wastage if the buck is for myself.
As you can perhaps see the tip of the bucks right horn is broken, which was a pity.

His on the hook weight was 18kgs ie no head legs off at knees etc.
I can scarcely think of a better way of spending a early summers morning, when the dew is on the grass and a roebuck in your scope.
cheers

Totally with you on that thought - nothing better than being out and about before the world wakes up! Keep posting the pics as the season progresses.

Hope it goes well for you. Down here in the SW - the first cut is off the silage fields. We can once more see the Deer browsing the hedgelines.

I agree completely,

There's something special about morning stalking and watching everything come alive... like watching the foreshore wake up while you wait for the first ducks to flight or the geese to lift off of the roost... Magic

I could not agree more with you... life does not get any better than that!
