Hello To All, I have a very nice rifle in 5.6X50R necked up to 6mm so it is a 6X50R. Cases for this round are very hard to find and expensive here in California or anywhere in the U.S.A. I understand the this caliber is quite common in Europe so my question is what is the cost of new cases or loaded ammo or used cases in your country? I often wonder if it would be possible to buy and have once fired cases sent to me? Any comments? Thanks, Marcos (elalto)

HI Elalto, I have the same problem, I am in New Zealand and have been looking for them also. There is a cheaper European brand from the Czech republic from Sellier & Bellot, see if they have an agent locally. Iam about to inportn a couple of Czech pistol and I intend to get them to sourse 100 cases and include them in the package. Good luck. Peter ihmsakiwi

New cases for the 5.6x50 R run about 1 - 1.5$ a piece here in Continental Europe, depending on which country you shop. Brass would typically be RWS - 1st quality. I don't know of any commercial operations dealing with 1'ce fired brass in this caliber - but occasionally people offer once fired brass on www.egun.de. I doubt the quantities will be very large, though.... It would be a while for me to pick up meaningful quantities of this brass on the range. It is not an uncommon caliber, but not a high volume number either - at least on my range. Shipment from Europe may be a problem depending on which country you source your brass from, and how particular they are about exporting reloading components. Just as a comparison, the US has also become pretty paranoid about such matters these days... As the Kiwi suggested above, it would probably be worth pricing some Sellier & Bellot brass. They are also represented in the US. Their brass is normally OK, not as good as RWS but often cheaper. I have used S&B 8x64S brass of late and apart from shallow primer pockets (fixd with uniformer), the brass was serviceable. http://www.sb-usa.com/ I take it you have already contacted Huntingtons?? I don't know if they have any RWS brass available (they list it on their website), or whether you were just suffering from sticker shock? I doubt the prices in Europe will be much lower, though. http://www.huntingtons.com/cases_rws.html - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... Marcos & Peter..... Agree wholeheartedly with Mike. I've never seen 5.6x50R Magnum brass in brass bins or from any other source here in Europe other than new. Good Luck in your search, here's a couple of links that may assist. Like Mike commented on the availability of Brass; RWS (expensive but excellent quality) or S&B (serviceable) but the primer pockets require attention. They are also notorious for using small primer pocket flash holes, too; I've had such expereinces with these small holes in .22 Hornet & .222 - .223 Remington where the de-priming pins stuck in the case - makes either the use of a smaller pin or drilling them a requirement. http://www.stitra.com/cerca.cgi?a288194 http://www.armishop.it/irw_cat.424f53534f4c4941524d494c...7fad8c91b501220b9158 https://export.frankonia.de//scripts/home/home.php Cheers, Number 10

W O W !! Thank you all for your comments, I had no idea how expensive things are "over there". Looking at the sites I see where the RWS and the S&B are just as costly, if not more, than here AFTER importation costs... WOW Thanks again, Marcos (elalto)

It's about time I did a good dead in return for all the ones I have had. I will check with my supplier to see what he will charge for 100 once fired 5.6x50Rmag RWS. I've had 200 from him in the past and it is quality stuff. He doesn't deal with the US due to postal charges. Will let you know. Nice round - allways wanted one!

Wow, Thanks! These cases are not only expensive here, but they are scarce. Please let us know what you find out. Thanks again, Marcos (elalto)

Just had a reply 100 RWS once fired cases would be 48 euro shipped to me. That's $70 odd. To that you'd have to add the US shipping. Haven't a clue how much but the upshot is that they should be less than $1 a case. Let me know what you want to do.

1894mk2, That sounds great! RWS is super quality. I have never bought anything by mail from over there, but if there is any way to do it, I would really like to get 100 cases. I live in California, postal code is 91911 I would really appreciate your help on this. I think I can find a way to get the $$ to you for the cases and postage then I suppose I will have to maybe pay some duty when it arrives? If you are able and willing to help me out, let me know via e-mail how to get the $$ and how much $$ to send to you. My e-mail address is elalto @ cox . net (take out spaces). Thanks again, Marcos (elalto)
