Pete...choice of scopes is very good. I have them both and think they are heads and shoulders over Leupolds. The 2.5x10x42mm is on a custom ltwt 300 Magnum and the 2x7x36mm is on custom ltwr bolt-action 450 Marlin.

Thanks for the imput all. I can see that either Talley or EAW will do the job and it leaves me wondering which to choose more so because I doubt if i will get the chance to compare them side by side before buying or see how they compare actually sat on the reciever of the rifle. I *really* hate buying mounts blind by mail order! I think it might be time for a little patence and see what I can find at the gamefairs over the summer...

I might just put a 8x56 S&B on it for now in fixed mounts for load developement and see what I find at the gamefairs ect.

Does anybody know whether the standard CZ return to zero when they are removed/replaced???
