last winter i saw a roe buck sleeping in my garden under an apple tree. first i thougt it was sick i went out to see what is wrong with him. he could barley stay on his feet. he had eaten plenty of rutten apples which was full of alcohol Big Grin and was completly drunk . i kicked his behind and he got upp and slowly left the garden. lucky me it wasn't a moose Big Grin

In Cyprus we used to find the partridges in the vinyards eating the grapes that had been neglected on the fine. Often these would have femented and the birds and sometimes the hares would be running about drunk!!!

Some of the less scupulous villagers would use the opportunity to fill their freezers each year. Now though there is not much game left so less likely to see such things.
