Hiya, I'm bored of putting on wet boots each morning as I never seem to be out of the field long enough for the to dry out, (or stop falling in holes on the bog for that matter!!) I got a pair of Peet boot dryers while I was in the states the realised it has an American plug on it and is set to 120V. Just want to check that if I put a 240V plug on it I'm not going to set fire to my boots or some such as that might be a bit too dry... Thanks, K

Kiri You'll almost certainly stuff them up if it's rated at 120 volts & you run 240 volt through them...... can you switch them to 240 volt? If not, you'll need to buy a transformer.

Oh Pooo.... I decided to go high tech, given my historical method of drying my boots is over the Camp braai, until that is I melted them onto the griddle one evening... I was upset about my VERY comfy safari boots and the PH was byatching about the plastic that had dripped onto his griddle for cooking steaks.... I got him a new griddle but I never got new boots... Mate, you should be able to get a transformer over there for a reasonable price.

As others have suggested, just do like we travelers from the USa do, get a conversion plug in that changes 220/240 to 120 volts... Also here is a little tip, when you do not have the Peet dryer on a remote hunt. Just stuff your boots full of newspaper. When you pull it out in the morning, your boots will be dry. Also if you boots are truely soaked, as in stepping in a hole full of water, then just change the news paper every hour, till it comes out not soaking wet and then leve some in the boot over night. On a wet backpacking hunt I carry two of those German water asorbing towels, use them every night and hang them up inside the tent to dry out durring the day... DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

I use rubber boots in wet weather the little moist get dry over night. With goretex boots they would be wet for weeks.

All electronics have ratings somewhere on it. If you look at the tag on it it will say"Input:xxxv" If it says "Input: 110-240" you are good. Most battery charges have this ability, but a boot dryer? Hmm, not sure. Converter is your best bet if is for 110 only.

Wendell's right & you'll also need to check that same classification plate for the power consumption so you're sure you have a transformer of sufficient output.
