I need help, I don't know which one of these to get for my 45 Blaser and 30-06 Tracking barrels. They are much cheaper than the Blaser Hit-Point Pro, and I know they are one of the most popular sights here in Europe. What models do you use for Wildboar and whatever else?

hello D - go with Docter - you wont regret it: http://84.19.177.220/frontend/index.php4?PHPSESSID=350d...b97ddb03c97ab45d5061

I'll say this regarding the Aimpoint vs. Docter discussion. The Docters are a bunch smaller and lighter, however they are not as well protected - in particular in inclement weather. And then there is the issue of sighting in with either device. The Aimpoint is one of the few red dot sights, which has a well functioning "click based" system for adjusting POI. No, it is not as good as you'll find on top level optics such as Zeiss or Swarovski, but it is pretty useable. With the Docter (and many other red dot sights), you are issued with a key and a scale (neither of which you should forget at home when sighting in), and then you are left to fiddle - a "little" turn this way, and a small turn in the other direction. Choose what suits you best. - mike P.S. Seth, I'm not going to suggest I can answer your original question in any exhaustive way. In particular I'll stay away from suggesting one Aimpoint model over the next. I simply am not on top of the various models What I will say is this: You'll need the smallest dot you can get - 3.5 MOA seems a popular choice. Secondly, it is important you get a model with zero magnification. Finally, it must sensibly mount on the rifle (I assume?) in question. If Gerry would finally stop selling African hunts for a while, maybe he could find time to fill us in on what he uses... - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... I think your right. They seem to be pretty popular here, and I know they aren't Zeiss, Schmidt and Bender or Zeiss quality but what is? I am going to try the 9000 or 7000 series models? Any input?

Seth... I have never used any "redpoint electronic sighting device", but in the Norwegian hunting magazine JAKT ( Hunt ) a very experienced editor completed a test a while ago. The overall winner with flying colors was the Aimpoint 9000. The verdict was a result of comparing 11 different brands including Zeiss Z-point and Docter. As far as i know this is also the model wich are used extencively by several military outfits, among them also US troops. Arild Iversen.

Thanks Arild, You know if it's good enough for Navy SEALS it's probably good enough to put on a Blaser.

Pete, I think your probably right, but damn man $2000 isn't lying around everythwere. For that price I can buy an two Aimpoints and two R93 mounts and two of the new Burris Euro Diamonds and two R93 mounts for them. I agree with you but my pocket book doesn't!

The flasdot is $1880-1900 in America, and that doesn't include a rail. Highway Robbery. the price is the same for the 1.1-4 and the 1.5-6.

Another vote for Aimpoint! I use a 5000XD, 5 years old and still working perfectly, despite some light shocks.
