TR,

Not much help but I've seen Swarovski 6x42mm in both 1" and 26mm..Not sure about the PF, but the Nova definitely came in both tube sizes..

Regards,

Pete

All my PF´s are 30mm (8x56). A friend´s 8x50 is 30mm as well. I would therefore assume that the 6x42 is 30mm.
I think the only current non-30mm tubes available from Swarovski are the AV line.

Regards,

Georg

An inch is 25.4mm. The difference of 0.6mm is big enough to matter when it comes to scope mounts.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

TR,

the swaro PF scopes i have seen listed in 6x42 only seem to be listed in 1" tube. GBF is right about the PF 8x50 and 8x56 these are in 30mm tubes

The vast majority of Brand name European scopes use the following rule of thumb although there ARE some exceptions:

Scopes made for export (primarily to the US Market) USUALLY have 25.4mm (1") tube diameters.

Variables USUALLY have 30mm tube diameters.

Many Fixed Power 6x42's & 8x56's USUALLY have 26mm tubes. As Brian said and his advice should be well-headed (and is my expereince also) 26mm tubes will only end up in severe frustration when attempting to mount a 26mm tubed scope in 1" rings - Ugh! A good example is that the Blaser Saddle Mount Rings will strip the threads on the ring screws when a 26mm tube is attempted to be mounted in 1" rings.

The Swarovski PF - PV, PV-N & Z Series ALL have 30mm tube diameters including the PF 8x56 Fixed Power Scope. As far as I'm aware the ONLY series with 25.4mm tube diameter in the Swarovski Series are the AV Series which made for the US Market. If a Swarovski Scope has a Rail it is a SR which means Swarovski Rail and ONLY accomodates the Swarovski Rail Mounts.

Cheers,

The vast majority of PF 6x42s are 1". It was possible to specify 26mm in the earlier ones (I know I ordered one) but I don't know if that is still the case.

Luckily that is the one European quality Swaro scope that has escaped the nauseating and pointless tendency to make everything in 30mm
