Subject says it all ---- anyone have any experience with this round?

I know it's a specialized cartridge but I have a chance to buy a buyer at a pretty good price.

D-B,

I didn't make the mistake but know several who did......

Those who immediately jumped on the Bandwagon years ago when Blaser brought out their 45 Blaser Piggie Basher have been less than enthralled in the Long-Term. Funny, I know three and they're back to using their R93 9.3x62 barrels for Drive Hunts just like they did prior to their 45 Blaser purchases.

bewildered

First (I'm NOT recoil sensitive), the recoil will bring tears to your eyes from the standard light(erish)weight R93 platform - period. I fired one round and gave it right back to the owner who was sheepishly grinning. My take-away is he was attempting to confirm what he already knew. I've shot the 416 Reington in a R93, too and blindfolded probably couldn't tell the two apart. Quite a handfull.

Due to very expensive proprietary ammo folks thought reloading would be the correct response. The same Fellow above related case re-sizing issues and case neck splits.

It'll for sure be an Attention-Getter but for my $0.02 Blaser woulda been better off making a Bolt-Head for the 45/70 Gvmt., engineering a magazine to match it and calling it quits.

Cheers,

Number 10

I kind of had the same feeling about recoil and looking at the way it bleeds velocity (and energy) it would, at best, be a very specialized round.

I had one for a while, and imported most of the reloading dies that were in America at the time from Frankonia and Triebel. Yes it kicks, yes it sheds velocity the same as the 450 Marlin and 45-70 do.

I have a Steyr SBS in 450 Marlin now, and am thinking about buying another members 45 Blaser barrel back from him. So in my mind it isn't all bad.

That and showing up in a hunting camp with a 45 Blaser on these shores would leave a lot of room for conversations.

Bill I have shot one a few times at the range.

But I have hunted deer with a 45/70, using 300, 350 and 400gr bullets.

I have also hunted a bunch with a 9,3x74R.

The 45 Blaser\45/70\450Marlin are very good rounds for game shot under 150 yards.

If Blaser had marketed the 45 Blaser bbls and ammo better in the USA I would have probably bought one.

Contact Aleko at Heritage Arms, I know he has reloaded for it.
