Does anyone have a good recipe for 55-70gr bullets and either Norma or Vihtavuori powders for the 6mmRem ? Regards Georg

Yes! Bullet 70gr hornady soft point (not spsx) Powder VVN150 I worked up to just under a max load which was from memory 43gr. Result is 3,500fps from a 24" barrel and excellent accuracy. The trajectory is FLAT and the results in roe deer very pleasing with reasonable exits. Very good bullet that is a lot tougher than one would think on small game.

Thank you ! have been experimenting with the Nosler BT 70gr and VVN-160 (near max) with promising results. Also tried Sierra MK, the rifle is not as happy with those, more spread. Regards Georg

Guys, No experience with the 6mm Rem. per say, but alot in this caliber with the .243 Winchester. If you get the fancy to try some other bullets either the Nosler Partition, Speer SPBT or Sierra HPBT GK, all 85 grainers. They have all been extremely accurate and very reliable performers on Roe Deer. Cheers, Number 10

I shoot a 70 grain Nosler B.Tip in my .244 Sako (identical case to 6mm Remington) using 48.5 grains of VV N160. This yields about 3630 fps from the 24 inch barrel.

No experience of 6mm Rem, but lots with .243 and VV powder. My most succesfull load was with 43.5gr N150, GM210m primer, Lapua brass, 68gr Berger flat based hollowpoints (moly coated). These shoot into .75" all day (sometimes better) with 3552fps, into 1" at 200yds. Have tried others but always come back to these, a good few thousand through rifle in the last 10 years. Used to load N160 before switching to moly, for this used 47gr, with 68gr Berger for 3622fps. In the end just found N150 sweeter to shoot. Looking back at records used 47gr N160 with 70gr Nosler Ballistic Tips (3580fps), 45gr N150 with 58gr Vmax (3964fps). Hope these are of some use, fine in my weapon etc....
