Kills motorist nearly a mile away.
I'm struggling with this one I must say.
What does the panel think?

Gerry,

Didn't we talk about this the other day?

You are the expert on armoured pigs so I'll leave it to you to discuss.

I don't believe at all that a bullet will travel for 2km after first hitting a boar and deflecting at such an angle and still have the power to kill a person after going through the car window.

Most likely it was a direct shot not hitting anything before the window and the driver.

I know firsthand about a bullet that ricochets off a road, passes through a barn and hits a guy in the back of the head 1100 yard away. It was an SKS, the bullet didn't even break the skin.

So I guess it's certainly possible.

You have to have some real bad luck for that to happen!

If you hunt enough weird things will happen. I had a 180 gr. Nosler Partition hit a smallish buck in the ribs right in the heart region and ricochet straight up, separated the shoulder from the body and exited out the top of the shoulder. Did not penetrate the ribs. This deer fell at the shot but was right back up and left on three legs. He went into a stand of trees and we could see that he didn't come out. Sent one guy in to flush him and I got a running shot. The bullet hit a small sapling, broke in half and hit the deer with both pieces, still running, another shot was needed to take him. So this 150 pound deer was shot in the chest four times with three bullets out of a 300 mag. before I got him. A very unusual set of circumstances.

The picture of that wild boar from their archives sure had a lot of teats. Typical news media.

Yes weird things can happen, but no way that the bullet would have enough energy to kill a man after angling about 90 degrees of a boar, travel for 2km, and then breaking the car window before hitting the man.

If you believe that this is possible, you should call the Mythbusters to prove you wrong Wink

Nah, not really.

I just consider the source ..... French newspaper translated into English ..... I don't know how they accomplish a correct translation since the Frogs don't allow English words in their language, no "Bon Weekend", "Sorry", etc., it's all about Le Grand Nation. The story was probably about Aliens landing in Normandy from Area 51 ......?

space

..... or maybe it was one of the:

Serial cattle killers baffle French farmers ....? Dunno, but my comdolences to the poor unfortunate fellow's Madame.

Cheers,

I agree and on the scull of the man killed in the accident the entry wound would show was it bounced bullet or a straight hit.
