Sika deer in southern England

Gents, no idea why these aren’t displaying on here but in south England a big population of free range Nippon Sika ( Japanese) have lived since their 1890 release by Queen Victoria when she was given some as a gift by the Emperor of Japan.

We hunt them during October when are rutting as easier to get a trophy stag then. Stags are normally 8 points and often break the tips whilst fighting which they love to do!

Here is one I took the other week. An injury to his leg caused his opposite antler to go abnormal.

Here is one my friend whom some have met from here, Alex’s stag. Was shot on last light with his .300 wtby.
