I was reading the RWS Weiderladen last week.

Who makes Rottweill powders?

Are they closely equivalent to any other labels?

R903=

R905=

R907=

R909=

etc.

etc.

Thanks,

LD

John, the Rottweil powders come off the same production line in Bofors Sweden also producing Norma and (some of the?) Alliant powders.

Some of these powders are therefore supposed to be "equivalent" - meaning top loads are LIKELY to be the same, but you have to work up from below.

I got this information from the company selling RL powders before Alliant - Hercules. However, if you look on the Reloading forum, and check out this thread: .30-06 Pressure Thread, M98 (a.k.a Daniel) who had these pressure tests made, maintains the powders are not the SAME. I guess, because the tests showed differences in pressure with supposedly equivalent powders. So take all this with a grain of salt...

Given that word of caution, the information I originally got from Hercules, indicated the following powder equivalence:

RL15 ~ N203 ~ R903
RL19 ~ N204 ~ R904
RL22 ~ MRP ~ R905

Please use caution when working up from below.

In Quickload RL19 is similar but not the same as N204. I once read here that even alliamt themselves confirmed the powders to be identical.

They are wery much alike but Norma and the others made at Bofors do vary abit between batches, hence the fact one can not just extrapolate.
