Oh my god

I think I recognise that church on top of the hill

By any chance it's on the main road between Maribor and lujbiana ?

Wonderful country

Can't wait to go back there

Thanks guys Smiler

Londonhunter this church is just south of Ljubljana so I don't think you've seen this one - however Slovenia is a land of the church buildings. It comes from the time of Turkish invasions, when they were build to offer refuge for rural Christians, so you can see them on top of many hills.

Mike not a Muskrat (Ondarta zibethica), it is a Nutria (Myocastor coypus). Nutria (beaver size 5-9kg) is much bigger than Muskrat (bigger rat size). Actualy we had aplenty Muskrat here before, untill 10 years ago (or so) a couple of Nutria escaped from a farm, now they are everywhere near water and have disloged the Muskrat entirely. Both have great fur - Muskrat's is shorter finer and redish in coulour, while Nutria's is longer and darker. We hunt them by stalking in the off-season or as targets of oportunity when duck hunting from a boat...

Dog isn't mine (I still have mine old one - turning 10 this summer). It is a Wirehair of my friend. We usualy help each other building up young dogs - this was a fine opportunity to teach a young dog to search and fetch. Vice versa - if I'd have a young dog and he would shoot a deer or a boar...that wouldn't run far, he'd call me and we'd retrieve the quarry - much easier (more opportunities) than doing it alone.

Ya guys it is beautiful - pic toward Sun (south) was taken from the low-flat part and shows my main hunting area (hills). Have in mind it is a small country - actualy pics were taken almost in the center (South of Ljubljana) and behind those mountains toward north is Austria already Smiler.

Ahhh, great pictures and beautifull landscape mouse.
Got the good "spring feeling" looking at them Smiler
To have the nutria as game of oportunity sounds exiting.
